Developing Minds Automaticity Reading Lab™ is a specialized cognitive literacy intervention designed for students ages 8–12 who have received reading instruction but continue to struggle with reading fluency, spelling accuracy, word retrieval, and the automatic application of literacy skills. Grounded in Structured Literacy and enriched by executive function and cognitive processing research, the program strengthens orthographic mapping, reading and spelling automaticity, working memory, language processing, morphological awareness, vocabulary, and rule generalization. Through systematic instruction, strategic repetition, progress monitoring, and meaningful practice, students move beyond simply learning rules to retrieving, applying, and generalizing literacy skills automatically and efficiently across reading, spelling, and academic tasks. The ultimate goal of the Automaticity Lab is to help students become confident, fluent, and independent learners equipped for increasingly complex literacy demands.
