How Our Intervention Process Works
Academic intervention is different from traditional tutoring. While tutoring typically focuses on reviewing schoolwork or helping students complete assignments, intervention is designed to identify and remediate the underlying skills that are impacting learning.
At Developing Minds, our specialists use evidence-based instructional practices to target the root causes of academic difficulties, helping students develop the foundational skills needed for lasting success. Every intervention is individualized, goal-driven, and built around a collaborative partnership between specialists and families.

Step 1 | Comprehensive Screening & Review
We begin with an individualized screening to assess your child's current skills. Families are encouraged to share previous evaluations, school reports, and relevant documentation to provide a complete understanding of the student's learning profile.
Step 2 | Student Intervention Plan (SIP)
Using the screening results, observations, and available documentation, our team develops a personalized Student Intervention Plan (SIP) outlining targeted goals, instructional priorities, and recommended intervention strategies.
Step 3 | Family Conference
We meet with the family to review the Student Intervention Plan, establish measurable goals, answer questions, and ensure everyone understands the intervention process and expectations.
Step 4 | Intervention Begins
Students participate in individualized or small-group intervention sessions using research-based programs and evidence-based instructional practices designed to build the specific skills identified in their plan.
Step 5 | Ongoing Progress Monitoring
Intervention is an ongoing partnership. Families receive regular communication, and formal progress reviews are conducted each bimester to evaluate growth, adjust goals when needed, and ensure students continue making meaningful progress.
