Reading Boost is an early literacy class designed for children ages 5–6 who are beginning their reading journey. Aligned with the Science of Reading and informed by Orton-Gillingham principles, the program provides explicit, systematic, and multisensory instruction to help children build strong foundational literacy skills.
Through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, children learn to connect sounds to letters, decode words, and develop the confidence needed to become successful readers.
Children work on:
• Phonological and phonemic awareness
• Letter-sound correspondence
• Beginning decoding and encoding
• Blending and segmenting sounds
• Consonant and short vowel sounds
• High-frequency word recognition
• Early reading fluency
• Print concepts and reading readiness
• Listening comprehension and vocabulary development
This class provides the strong literacy foundation children need during these crucial early years, helping them develop accuracy, confidence, and a love for reading through evidence-based instruction and joyful learning experiences.
