EMPLOYMENT SCREENING & ELIGIBILITY
Developing Minds Learning Center maintains employment screening and eligibility procedures designed to protect students and comply with applicable Florida requirements.
BACKGROUND SCREENING
All employees and contracted personnel required by law to undergo background screening must successfully satisfy applicable screening requirements before being permitted to have direct contact with students.
Developing Minds will deny employment, remove an individual from applicable duties, or terminate employment or contracted service when the individual does not satisfy applicable background-screening or employment-eligibility requirements.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT HISTORY & EDUCATOR SCREENING
Before employing an individual in a position involving direct contact with students, Developing Minds will conduct and document applicable pre-employment screening, including:
Review of the applicant's employment history.
Required inquiries with previous employers.
Review of applicable educator screening and eligibility resources.
Documentation of screening results and findings in the employee's personnel record.
Resolution of information that may affect the individual's eligibility before permitting direct student contact.
EMPLOYMENT DISQUALIFICATION
Developing Minds will not employ or continue to employ instructional personnel, administrators, or other applicable personnel who are legally ineligible or disqualified from employment involving direct contact with students.
This includes individuals whose educator certificate has been revoked, who are barred from reapplying for an educator certificate, who appear on an applicable Department of Education disqualification list, or who are otherwise legally prohibited from employment in the position.
Employees must immediately notify administration of any circumstance that may affect their continued legal eligibility for employment.
MISCONDUCT & EMPLOYMENT REFERENCES
Developing Minds will not enter into confidentiality agreements or other arrangements intended to conceal misconduct when an instructional employee or school administrator is dismissed, terminated, or resigns because of misconduct.
Developing Minds will not provide an employment reference that improperly conceals or fails to disclose misconduct when disclosure is required by applicable law.
All required screening, employment-history verification, eligibility review, and related documentation will be maintained in the appropriate personnel or compliance records.
