A joyful and developmentally appropriate writing class designed to introduce young learners to handwriting and early written expression while building the foundational skills necessary for future academic success. Through engaging, multisensory activities and meaningful writing experiences, children develop confidence as emerging writers and begin to express their ideas with increasing independence.
Children work on:
• Correct letter formation and pencil grasp
• Proper handwriting habits and posture
• Uppercase and lowercase letter mastery
• Spacing, sizing, and organization on paper
• Phonetic spelling and sound-to-print connections
• Sentence construction and expansion
• Beginning paragraph writing
• Creative storytelling and written expression
• Fine motor and visual-motor skills
• Attention, planning, and other executive functioning skills needed for writing
This class goes beyond handwriting practice. Children learn to organize their thoughts, communicate ideas, and develop the confidence, independence, and foundational executive functioning skills that support successful writing throughout their educational journey. Through playful and meaningful experiences, writing becomes an enjoyable way to think, create, and express ideas.
